# Push Notifications by Chat

> Let agents preview, send, and schedule push notifications, with a test to your own phone first.

Agents can send push notifications to your app's members, now or at a time you choose. They always show you exactly who a push reaches before sending.

## Turn it on

In WordPress, open **Blockli → Tools → AI Tools** and switch on **Allow AI agents to send push notifications**. It's off by default, and appears once the AI tools are on.

Push notifications need your Apple and Firebase keys set up in Studio first. See [Push Notifications](https://docs.blockli.app/plugin/push-notifications.md).

## Who gets a push

An agent can send to:

* **Everyone** with the app, or
* Members of one or more **access groups** (any or all of them).

Pushes from agents always skip members who turned off admin notifications in the app, including when sent to everyone.

## Send a push

```text theme={null}
Preview a push to everyone saying "Our new course is live. Tap to start."
that opens my Courses page. Send it to just me as a test first.
```

**1. Preview**

The agent shows the title, message, what tapping it opens (an app page, a post or course, or a web link), and how many people and devices it reaches right now. It warns you if the text will be cut off on a lock screen.

**2. Test to yourself (recommended)**

The agent sends the push only to your own devices so you can see it. This needs no confirmation. Sign in to the app on your phone with notifications allowed.

**3. Send or schedule**

The agent shows the exact count and waits for your yes. A sent push can't be recalled.

## Schedule a push

Ask for a time, for example "Schedule it for everyone next Monday at 9am." Times use your site's time zone and can be from 2 minutes to 90 days ahead.

Who's in the audience is worked out when the push goes out, so members who join a group in the meantime are included.

Scheduled pushes appear in **Blockli → Push → Scheduled**, marked as made by an AI agent, where you can **Edit** or **Cancel** them. Agents can also list, change, and cancel scheduled pushes, and "undo the last change" unschedules one that hasn't gone out.

## After it's sent

Every push shows in **Blockli → Push → History** with how many were delivered and how many failed. Pushes sent by agents are marked **AI agent**.
